Mothers Day

Somethings I remember from my childhood with my mom.

1. on our way to church she use to pull out her little make up bottle that was in the cd holder in the front of our car (that was also used as a cup holder) and put it on while drying down the road.

2. you could scare her with this fake little lizard that was always in the dirt outside? why i'm not sure.

3. she would always sneak off some where with out telling you. (later you'd find out she went grocery shopping or when went out to eat)

4. she never answered the house phone, you always had to call grandmas house number to get a hold of her. (we were trying to get to go home from school "sick.") she would always suggest you try to push through it.

5. that she really had no idea what the 5 of us did in the background. (playing on the stacks of cement, the rebar, in the boat, playing with firer? you name it no clue.)

6. we would jump out of the car and look for change so "we" could have a drink from sonic..etc

7. dancing around the living room singing at the top of our lungs while "cleaning" before dad got home.

8. her yard is her 6th child

9. that mom always got what she wanted from dad...ALWAYS!

10. Lastly... that her and dad took us on the most awesome family vacations even though we vaguely remember some of the less exciting ones and that it cost them 100,000.00 that they are still paying for ... jk not really that much ;)

As kids the only thing that I can remember really celebrating was birthdays and Christmas so mothers days doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me, not even now that I am a mother I would say mostly because I know next month is fathers day and ill have to return the gesture which will be exhausting. (that I know I get that from my mom.)
But...I digress looking back at the two years I've been granted with being a mom I can not be more blessed even though it is exhausting, stressful, and hard. I don't know if I've become a better person or even if I could be mother of the year. But when my child runs to the door when I return from work and wants to immediately play with me a show me all his toys I know I must be doing something right. I love beck for always helping me through out it all and for rock for giving me something to laugh at.

Get ready for a montage!

I should of never introduced him to this cart. He eagle eyes it at smiths in the parking lot, or we run to where they keep the carts when we walk into the store.

Roll over

Rocky rolled over on saturday but i haven't been able to catch him on video. I think it makes him nervous ;) but this is him attempting to this morning. At 2 months he is holding his head up so good. He is becoming quite the handsome fellow I think.

time flies! part 2

I cannot believe how much love you can have for somethings so small. I love my son with all my heart and more then I thought possible to love. It brings everything in your life closer together. he spends a lot of time with nan and mamy his grandmas and spends the mornings with dad while I am away at work, I am able to bring him to work on days that I need to and that has made the transition really great! I cannot believe he is almost 8 weeks old.

Here are some pictures of him these last few weeks since I've been really awful at updating this.

p.s. Britta I am so sorry I was able to see you when you came into town, next time you come back to abq, we should get together and have lunch or we could have a double dinner with you and shay. I hope you had a good time though.

38 Weeks!!!

So I'm 38 weeks pregnant now and have two weeks left of this seemingly never ending pregnancy. This baby better be worth it ;). The more I think about I could go to bed and awake up and say its time to go, or just be cleaning and say oh lord its time, scares me more then getting married did...Maybe its because I knew and was absolutely positive that my marriage was going to work and be amazing and maybe this is the unknown? Am I going to be a good mother? What will it be like? What if I don't know what to do? and I fear that something horrific will happen and I will lose him because of SIDS or something I cannot control. What if my role is just to bring him into this world and then say goodbye. How would I live????? Do all first mothers feel or think this way? I sure hope not, but I hope I'm not a paranoid freak!

Well...I have my crib and all is ready the bag is packed and at any moment I'm more then happy to jump into the car and drive away to lovelace and see my son for the first time. I yearn for the feeling to hold him and kiss his little head. I wonder if he will look like his father, or will he look like me. Will he shock us and end up with brown eyes? What will my son! look like.

Tomorrow my sister flies off to her outbound mission to South Chicago...and I guess I will not be seeing her till she returns in February. I will probably be the only one crying. I miss her dearly. I miss that she has missed out on my pregnancy and she will miss the first months of this babies life. But I am sad that my brother will meet him and then in 6 months or so will leave and not see him again for 2 years...Is life suppose to have such amazing highs and such low lows?

I don't know if anyone else goes through this but I don't wish it on them. Soon I will see my son and I cannot wait!!! Everyone pray everyday that he will be born so healthy and a happy baby and a sleeps through the night baby :)

Thanks for reading

Has it been a year already...

Well at the end of next week, I will of been married to Beckett Nodal for one whole year. Where did the time go? In our short time together as a family, we are so excited to announce that we are having a son. His name will be Rocky and I love him so much already. Even though he has caused much puking and physical pain the love I have for him is so great. Thats our big news everything else seems to be the same. Beckett is still working part time and going to school full time and will transfer to UNM with in the next couple of semesters. I am currently still working for the Chiropractor and that has been a huge blessing in our life's. We both have siblings out on missions and we miss them dearly. My sister Sister Sarah Swapp is serving at the Salt Lake Temple Square mission and if you ever get a chance go see her, she truly is an amazing missionary. Becketts Brother Elder Solon Nodal is serving in Brazil and if I ever needed to know that our heavenly father knows us all personally his calling to Brazil is evidence enough for me. It is so hard but Solon serves so happy and I don't think he would fit in, in any other mission. I can't wait for either of them to return home.

As far as my pregnancy goes I am almost 29 weeks and my son should arrive May 13th. Well I'm hoping he will get to anxious and come to us sooner...like the last week of April. :) Stay tuned for more... I'll try to figure out how to post pictures and all the fun stuff.
